October has arrived, and the MLB

postseason is now in full swing.

Only four teams remain in the race for

the championship. The Chicago

Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers represent the National League, while the Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays represent the American League.

The Chicago Cubs finished the

regular season with a major league best 103-58 record.

Although the Cubs entered the

postseason as a favorite, they still bear a massive weight on their shoulders.

That weight being the 107 years the

Cubs have failed to make it to a World Series.

But, with superstars like Jake

Arrieta and Kris Bryant, it’s hard not to think that

this could be the year they finally go all the way.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were able to

make the playoffs after the brutal meltdown of the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers defied the odds and

managed to survive in the standings even with the absence of ace Clayton Kershaw.

It is also very fortunate that Kershaw

was able to return, for all four of the Dodger’s playoff wins have been in games where Kershaw has pitched.

The National League Championship

Series is already two games in.

The first two games were held at

Chicago’s Wrigley Field and saw each team take one.

Cubs’ ace John Lester pitched well in a

win against the Dodgers, while Clayton Kershaw helped shut-out the Cubs in a 1-0 victory.

Games three, four, and five will be

held in Los Angeles as the teams continue to battle it out.

The Toronto Blue Jays made the playoffs

by claiming the wild card spot.

The Blue Jays then went on to defeat

the A.L best Texas Rangers in a five game series.

Like the Cubs, the Blue Jays entered

the playoffs as a favorite to win the World Series,

However, they lost the first two games

of the American League Championship Series to the Indians.

The Cleveland Indians have managed

to turn some heads this season.

Coming into the season, they were not

expected to even make the playoffs.

Led by a great pitching staff and young

sensation Francisco Lindor, they now find themselves in a position to go to the World Series.

The city of Cleveland has already a

bit of championship fever, with the Cleveland Cavaliers recently winning the NBA Championship.

It’s a good time to be a fan in Cleveland.

ALCS games three, four, and five will

be held in Toronto at the Rogers Centre.

No matter who comes out on top, this

postseason is sure to offer excitement to all fans of America’s pastime.
